The Irwin Rider Civil War Round Table is dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge concerning historic events related to the American Civil War. Many of the events discussed involve volunteers and heroes from Erie and Northwest Pennsylvania.

Meetings are held in room 4-107 at Millcreek Intermediate High School (MIHS) at 7:00 pm on the third Tuesday of each month starting in September and ending in May with the exception of December. The season often ends in May with a field trip to a Civil War related site.

The meetings are open to the public. They feature a local or visiting speaker on subjects relating to the American Civil War and last about 1 ½ hrs including a question period after the presentation. There are no dues or admission fees currently. A hat is circulated among the attendees for donations to help defray postage and other expenses. One may become a member by enlisting at any meeting.
